K-2, is the second highest mountain in the world at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet).  K-2 is located on the China-Pakistan border between Baltistan, in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of northern Pakistan.  K-2 is the highest point of the Karakoram Range and the highest point in both Pakistan.

K-2 is known as the “Savage Mountain” due to the extreme difficulty of ascent and weather and thus has only approximately 300 ascents.  For these reasons, one should be very experienced before attempting a summit of K-2.

K-2 is located near some of the largest mountains in the world including Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II.
