Ishinca Valley Expedition
The Ishinca Valley Expedition will take you to one of the most beautiful areas of the Cordillera Blanca Range in Peru. After a couple days in Huaraz gathering last minute supplies and doing an acclimation hike we will head to Ishinca Base Camp. Once at Ishinca base camp located at 14, 270 feet, you can ascend three different peaks. Mt. Urus Este at 17, 780 feet is a great beginner climb and will allow any climber to work on their mountaineering skills. The next peak is Mt. Ishinca at 18, 145 feet which is a bit more challenging, but still a great peak to work on your general mountaineering skills and enjoy the amazing views.
Finally, there is Mt. Tocllaraju at 19,790 feet. Tocllaraju is much more challenging, but still not considered difficult, provided you are comfortable with some sections of 60-70 degree snow climbing and moving around numerous crevasses. This is a great trip to spend time in the beautiful Ishinca Valley and a great way to start climbing or as a next step to work on your climbing skills.
