Mount Hvannadalshnúkur
The ascent of Hvannadalshnúkur, (2,110 meters/6,900 feet), the highest peak in Iceland, is a real bucket list experience. This is an unforgettable trip with breathtaking panoramic views looking over the Vatnajökull glacier and the vast plains of the glaciated rivers that drain off the glacier. While no technical skills are required, the hike is both physically and mentally challenging.
Departures: Unfortunately conditions on the Hvannadalshnúkur mountain is very unpredictable and ever changing, thus please check with us to see if conditions are favorable for the trip. April 1st to June 15 are usually the best times of year, but depending upon the glacier conditions, climbing may be possible up to September 30th.
