Trip Description

Chulu Peak East (6,584 meters/21,601 feet) is located just north of the Annapurna Massif.  With a stunning setting, technical aspects, spectacular 900 meter climbing route and short access to the peak, Chulu is a climbing objective second to none-in Nepal.  Chulu East is part of the Chulurange, which consists of Chulu West 6,429 meters,  Chulu Far East 6,029 m and Chulu West 6,584 m.  Chulu East provides breathtaking views of Annapurna (I II, III and IV) Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Mt. Manaslu.   This peak is great for anyone wishing to work on their mountaineering skills, or can be done as a beginner peak.

Trip includes: 

Arrival and departure transfer services to and from both domestic and international flights as per itinerary.

Assistance at the international airport by Satori Adventures while arriving and departing in Kathmandu.

3 night hotel accommodation in Kathmandu on bed and breakfast basis

1 nighthotel accommodation in Pokhara on B&B basis

3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner with tea/coffee available in the tea house/hotel/lodge during the trekking.

3 fresh meals a day: Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at base camp.

20 kg baggage allowance per person during trekking, carried by porters/mules.

Daily weather report services from Seattle, Washington based company.

Trekking permit (Annapurna Conservation).

TIMS card (Trekking Information Management System).

2 expedition members will have 1 tent available in the ABC (We provide V25 two-man tent.

Required fixed and dynamic ropes during climbing period.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel accommodation in Kathmandu (1,350 m/4,430 ft)

Day 2

Preparation and briefings at the departments of tourism. Last minute shopping and permit.

Day 3

Drive from Beshishahar to Dharapani (1,860 meters/6,103 ft, 6hrs) lodge accommodation

Day 4

Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2,670 meters/9,055 ft. 5-6 hrs) lodge accommodation

Day 5

Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang (3, 100 meters/10, 170 ft. 5 hrs) lodge accommodation

Day 6

Trek from Upper Pisang to Braka(3800m/12,467ft, 5 hrs) tea house accommodating

Day 7

Trek from Barka to Ngwal(4,100m/12,467ft, 4 hrs) tea house accommodation

Day 8

Trek from Ngwal to Yak Kharka (4,300 m/14,107 ft, 4 hrs) tea house accommodation

Day 9

Trek from Yak Kharka to Chulu East Base Camp (4, 500 m/14,763 ft, 4 hrs) Camping

Day 10

Trek from Chulu Base Camp to High Camp (5,400 m/17,717 ft, 4 hrs) camping

Day 11

This is a evaluation day. If the team needs to rest and acclimatize an extra day can be spent here.  If everyone feels well you can attempt a summit push (6,584 m/21,601 ft) camping

Day 12

Summit to Chulu Peak, return to Base Camp. Camping accommodation

Day 13

Trek from Chulu Base Camp to Manang (3,540 m/11,614 ft, 7hrs) lodge accommodation.

Day 14

Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4,350 m/14,272 ft, 4hrs) lodge accommodation.

Day 15

Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,420 m/14,501 ft, 4hrs) lodge accommodation.

Day 16

Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3,850 m/12,631 feet, 7 hrs) Thorong La Pass (5,416 m/17,770 feet) lodge accommodation

Day 17

Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,700 m/8,858 ft, 4hrs) lodge accommodation.

Day 18

Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (950 m/3,116 ft, 30 min) hotel accommodation

Day 19

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus that takes about seven hours, or can take a flight which takes about 25 minutes, overnight at hotel. Farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 20

Transfer to airport and return home
